    Chief Operating Officer

    Born and bred in Hertfordshire, Adam was always destined for a career in recruitment given his sparkling personality and boyish good looks. Having started out in the construction industry, Adam moved into recruitment with a London based IT recruitment company. After 5 years working hard and playing hard he joined Datacenter People where he now works even harder but doesn’t have time to play as a young family keeps him busy at home.

    Adam is a Spurs season ticket holder and can be heard commenting every Monday morning “that’s it, I am never going again”. When not hunting out the world’s datacenter talent, he can be found arguing with Steve over the best team in London.  His biggest achievements include becoming top biller at Datacenter People and eating a whole Victoria sponge cake on his most recent birthday.

    What The Job Involves 

    • Perform design reviews of systems. 
    • Develop, oversee and write start up and commissioning policies and procedures. 
    • QA/QC of the equipment installation. 
    • Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans. 
    • Execute tests for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems and to ensure testing is performed in conformance with standards and procedures. 
    • Assist in training of plant operations and maintenance personnel. 
    • Act as liaison with vendors and subcontractors regarding problem resolution and perform testing as required. 
    • Review and analyse data and prepare technical reports. 
    • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members.

    We’re Looking for Someone With

    • 7 years' of industry experience in either electrical power distribution or mechanical systems or both.  AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience.  
    • Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems. 
    • Be organized; possess excellent written and oral communication skills.   
    • Experience with MS word and excel is a must.  
    • Must have the ability to work in a high stress environment, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. 
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others. 
    • Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards. 
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is considered a plus.  
    • Must have or be able to obtain a passport.

    What The Job Involves 

    • Carry out the role of a Lead/Senior CxA (Commissioning Agent) / CxM (Commissioning manager) on mission critical projects, to include duties such as – Chairing meetings / leading technical workshops / Managing Mechanical and electrical IRL’s on projects. 
    • Script development and review. 
    • Cx script sign off and approval. 
    • Design Review. 
    • RCA (Root cause analysis) / Problem solving and trouble shooting. 
    • Review available training documentation and effectively apply it to daily activities.

    • Fill in a daily onsite testing log. 
    • Perform infrared (IR) scanning/analysis and record data in spreadsheet.

    We’re Looking for Someone With

    • Mechanical or Electrical Engineer degree level 8 or higher. 
    • Working mechanical and electrical knowledge. 
    • Extensive background as a Commissioning Agent/Manager within the Data Center or mission critical industry industry.

    What The Job Involves 

    • Oversee and co-ordinate the design. 
    • Provide progress reports and other reports as required. 
    • Assist in the management of the project schedule for the relevant activities. 
    • Co-ordinate between the wider Developer team and the design team. 
    • Co-ordinate between the different Developer departments as required. 
    • Drive/support end to end design delivery process starting from brief definition and internal alignment with various stakeholders, to appointment, management and review of external design vendors that carry out design work. 
    • Work in conjunction with the Project Management team to ensure design delivery is progressing in line with projects brief, agreed budget and programme from throughout design and construction until hand over to Operations.

    • Proven track record with Modular builds within data centers, electrical infrastructure, or similar high-tech industries.
    • Capable of working with senior management staff of our customers.
    • Experience in prospecting and engaging new customers.
    • Familiarity with Data Center systems and electrical components is highly desirable.
    • Previous experience in factory operations or project management is a plus.
    • Strong project management, organisational, and communication skills.
    • Technical understanding of data center infrastructure and related components.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and bid management tools; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
