    The Client

    Datacenter People is partnering with a European specialist data center operator that delivers services through a campus model. Today they own and operate 22 data centers across France, Italy, Spain, Poland and Luxembourg.

    What The Job Involves 

    • Lead the design and development of conceptual and detailed mechanical systems for new and existing data centers. 
    • Analyse cooling and air handling requirements to optimise efficiency, reliability, and energy consumption. 
    • Select and specify mechanical equipment based on industry best practices, project requirements, and sustainability considerations. 
    • Ensure mechanical system design seamlessly integrates with other systems (electrical, IT, etc.) through close collaboration with relevant teams. Oversee the commissioning process for new and upgraded mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. 
    • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans in accordance with industry standards and best practices. 
    • Identify and resolve mechanical commissioning issues efficiently to maintain project progress. 
    • Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth construction and installation of mechanical components. 
    • Stay at the forefront of the latest trends and technologies in data center mechanical design and operation. 
    • Serve as the company’s internal expert on all mechanical aspects of data centers. 
    • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders across various departments. 
    • Represent the company in external project meetings, discussions, and negotiations with vendors and consultants. 
    • Communicate clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring transparency and understanding. 
    • Manage and maintain technical documentation related to data center mechanical systems. 
    • Identify opportunities for improvement in data center mechanical systems and processes. 
    • Lead the implementation of new technologies and best practices to enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. 
    • Analyse data and performance metrics to identify areas for optimisation. 

    We’re Looking for Someone With

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. 
    • Minimum of 7+ years' of experience in data center design and construction or equivalent experience in critical infrastructure. 
    • Proven track record of success in leading and executing complex mechanical engineering projects. 
    • English: fluent 
    • Experience on Mechanical Systems and discipline (HVAC, CFDs, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC / CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc.). 
    • Strong understanding of data center thermal management, power distribution, and fire suppression systems. 
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
    • Proactive: Takes initiative and ownership of tasks without needing constant direction. 
    • Accountable: Admits mistakes, learns from them, and delivers on commitments. 
    • Agile: Learns quickly and applies new knowledge in practical situations. 
    • Collaborative: Works effectively with diverse teams and adapts communication styles accordingly.

    • Senior Design Manager

      Datacenter People is working with the largest global provider of cloud and carrier neutral data center, colocation and interconnection solutions.

      What The Job Involves 

      • Regularly collaborate and coordinate with internal DRT organisational stakeholders.  
      • Operate strategically and predominately under their own initiative and to think laterally and innovatively. 
      • Responsible for the tender, selection, appointment and management of Design Consultants as well as the drafting and presentation of standard gating deliverables.
      • Determine the magnitude of project Consultancy fees and other required budgets for incorporation into the Investment Committee funding process. 

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      • Bachelor’s degree in one of the CS/MEPH engineering disciplines or Architecture - equivalent experience in a related engineering, architecture or other discipline field will be considered.
      • A minimum of 3 to 10 years' mission critical building delivery experience ideally in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
      • Data center design experience is preferred or experience of highly serviced building designs.
      • Familiarity of gating processes/change control within an Owner Operator Development organisation.
      • An awareness of contractual responsibilities and internal/external interfaces.
      • Familiarity of multi-disciplinary subject matters within the Group to cover the key technical areas relevant to the data centre industry inclusive of all CSA and MEPH disciplines.
      • Ability to clearly explain complex technical issues while driving solutions in a multi-stakeholder environment.
      • Confidence to defend design decisions taken to key senior internal and external stakeholders.
      • Experience of ensuring that the design process is followed inclusive of required change control.
      • An ability to succinctly and confidently communicate complex technical challenges at a range of levels of detail to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.

      What The Job Involves 

      • Understand, anticipate and deliver customer (internal and external) needs while building effective relationships.
      • Positively respond to both our internal and external customers through effective communication and personal accessibility.
      • Supporting finance, so that invoices can be raised in a correct and timely manner.
      • Raising purchase orders in line with company requirements.
      • Assisting the Data Center Manager in the management of site budget.
      • Understanding supplier contracts, including scope and terms & conditions.
      • Assisting the Data Center Manager in ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including H&S reporting and promoting a safe working environment.
      • Maintaining on site personnel records including training matrixes, holiday and sickness records and timesheets.
      • Assist with monthly Client reporting.
      • Working with the site / data center manager to help improve operational items that are measured against monthly key performance indicators.

      • Good PC based skills, with experience in Word/Excel and Outlook – intermediate to advance level, desirable skills in PowerPoint and Access.
      • 3 years’ experience in a similar support role.
      • Previous experience of a customer-facing role using ERP systems such as Oracle.
      • Some financial / accounting experience would be an advantage.
