    The Client


    Datacenter People has been instructed by a technically led, global real estate services company that has a focus on project delivery in critical environments.

    What The Job Involves 

    • Acts as Competent Person managing safety on the projects under their control. Insures that Cx Team members have completed any project specific safety training required and that proper Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) have been performed for the work that will be conducted on the project. Insures that toolbox training has been conducted and recorded on a weekly basis.
    • Utilises the company’s accounting, project management, and resource planning systems to accurately forecast project resource requirements and billing projections, as well as expenses on assigned projects.
    • Updates project information as it is made available and proactively works to resolve resource conflicts as conflicts are generated.
    • Determines how money will be spent to accomplish the Scope Of Work (SOW) and properly accounts for these expenditures. Identifies any variances that develop to SOW and advises Client in a timely manner of any potential change order as a result of these variances.
    • Manages all financial aspects of the project to include project opening, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue projections, and project closeout.
    • Creates and manages the budgeting process which includes estimating, value engineering, and managing the client's budgetary expectations through the project cycle.
    • Understands and explains the circumstances driving all financial variances throughout the project cycle.
    • Represents the company’s interest in delivery of services in accordance with the contractual requirements and company standards.
    • Creates and manages an overall milestone schedule which includes all facets of the project and includes relevant owner, design, and construction team activities. 
    • Manages multiple members of the Cx Team which can include client representatives, vendors, contractors, end users, and in some cases the entire team in a design-build scenario.
    • Plans and manages multiple concurrent activities to accomplish desired project results.
    • Completes the project opening process to reflect the contracted SOW. Develops a Schedule Of Values (SOV) based on a planned Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and review of project estimate.
    • Completes the project close-out process to include commissioning reports, as-built documentation, operations/maintenance manuals, lessons learned that should be applied to future projects, SharePoint archiving and ultimate project performance.
    • Maintains PI’s interest during client communication and withholds any potentially sensitive PI proprietary information.
    • Participates in new project opportunities as well as presents proposals and credentials to Client.
    • Develops positive working relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
    • Manages the document control process as well as ensures proper and constant communication with project stakeholders (e.g. Client, construction, and design team). 
    • Leads, supervises, and mentors multiple project resources to include field technical staff for assigned projects.
    • Manages a ‘new to’ client team transition. 
    • Manages a ‘new to’ each other CxE relationship for a project.
    • Manages diversity of CxE levels over the course of a project or follow-on projects to achieve the SOW and budget.
    • Works to expand current contracted service offering for current clients. 
    • Identifies opportunities for professional development for self and pursues ongoing professional development training.  
    • Participates in and attends business development functions as needed to represent the company. 
    • Maintains positive outward projection of the company during formal and informal events. 

    We’re Looking for Someone With

    • Manages subordinate supervisors who are managing projects that the PM is ultimately 
    • accountable for. 
    • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all Operations resources deployed to these projects.
    • Supervises approximately 6 employees in a non-direct report relationship. 
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, planning, assigning, and directing work and resolving problems.

      • Experience with MS word and excel is a must. 
      • Must have the ability to work in a high stress environment, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. 
      • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others. 
      • Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards. 
      • Working knowledge of AutoCAD. 
      • Must have or be able to obtain a passport 
      • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Engineer. 
      • Five (5) years of experience in the commissioning field including performance contracting requirements. 
      • Must be proficient in BCA, PECI and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures.  
      • Hospital, biotech, data center, and energy analysis experience is preferred.

      • Possesses a post-secondary education, preferably in engineering.

      • Understands business models and contracts which are standard in

      What The Job Involves 

      • Lead the design and development of conceptual and detailed mechanical systems for new and existing data centers. 
      • Analyse cooling and air handling requirements to optimise efficiency, reliability, and energy consumption. 
      • Select and specify mechanical equipment based on industry best practices, project requirements, and sustainability considerations. 
      • Ensure mechanical system design seamlessly integrates with other systems (electrical, IT, etc.) through close collaboration with relevant teams. Oversee the commissioning process for new and upgraded mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.

      • Experience on Mechanical Systems and discipline (HVAC, CFDs, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC / CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc.). 
      • Strong understanding of data center thermal management, power distribution, and fire suppression systems. 
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
