    The Client

    Datacenter People is partnering with a European specialist data center operator that delivers services through a campus model. Today they own and operate 22 data centers across France, Italy, Spain, Poland and Luxembourg.

    What The Job Involves 

    • Define and ensure implementation the Commissioning strategy at Data4 
    • Lead the commissioning process for data center projects, including all systems, electrical, mechanical, BMS.
    • Develop and implement commissioning plans, protocols, and schedules. 
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and successful commissioning. 
    • Conduct site inspections and functional testing of systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards. 
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the commissioning process. 
    • Ensure that documentation is well prepared and maintained, including commissioning reports and system performance data 
    • Provide training and support to operations staff on system functionality and maintenance. 
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices throughout the commissioning process. 
    • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in commissioning practices and technologies.
    • Serve as the company's internal expert on all commissioning aspects of data centers. 
    • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders across various departments. 
    • Represent the company in external project meetings, discussions, and negotiations with vendors and consultants. 
    • Communicate clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring transparency and understanding. 
    • Identify opportunities for improvement in data center mechanical systems and processes. 
    • Lead the implementation of new technologies and best practices to enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. 
    • Analyse data and performance metrics to identify areas for optimization. 

    We’re Looking for Someone With

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 
    • 5+ years of experience in commissioning management, preferably in data center or critical facility environments. 
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems in data centers. 
    • Familiarity with building codes, standards, and regulations related to data center operations. 
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. 
    • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)) is a plus. 
    • English: fluent.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
    • Proactive: Takes initiative and ownership of tasks without needing constant direction.

      • Be organised; possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
      • Experience with MS word and excel is a must. 
      • Must have the ability to work in a high stress environment, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. 
      • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others. 
      • Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards. 
      • Working knowledge of AutoCAD. 
      • Must have or be able to obtain a passport 
      • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Engineer. 
      • Five (5) years of experience in the commissioning field including performance contracting requirements. 
      • Must be proficient in BCA, PECI and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures.  
      • Hospital, biotech, data center, and energy analysis experience is preferred.

      Datacenter People has been instructed by one of the leading multi-technical engineering service providers in the Nordics with a focus on critical infrastructure solutions.

      What The Job Involves 

      • Lead, drive, and distribute work within the project.
      • Monitor Company’s interests as a supplier and handle risks and opportunities, anticipating future consequences responsibly and accurately. 
      • Lead and take overall responsibility including the project’s financials, governance, and oversight. 
      • Build the project organizstion and implement QA/QC and health & safety management systems.

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      • Possesses a post-secondary education, preferably in engineering.
      • Has prior experience in a leadership role managing large, complex, fast track projects (over 50 million EUR).
      • Has thorough experience from installations and technical systems in data centers, and the cooperation model between suppliers and international clients.
      • Understands business models and contracts which are standard in
      • international data center projects.
      • Has led large organisations with multiple levels, including direct staff and subcontractors.
      • Is fluent in English, both spoken and written; Swedish or Norwegian is an advantage.

      • Analyse cooling and air handling requirements to optimise efficiency, reliability, and energy consumption. 
      • Select and specify mechanical equipment based on industry best practices, project requirements, and sustainability considerations.
